Gabbii will be presented at TBeats Studio Listening Party February 27
ST. LOUIS, MO – Alexis Jones, the 17-year-old R&B artist known as Gabbii and a senior at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, has been named the 2015 Kwame Foundation “Live Your Dream in Music” scholarship winner. Gabbii has been signed to record at TBeats Studio and will receive a full range of artist development services including production of her upcoming album, booking at national and local events, songwriting, publishing, artistic development, public relations, marketing, and acting, fashion and career consulting. The Kwame Foundation “Live Your Dream” scholarship supports talented high school seniors who have a passion in the arts but who otherwise might not have an opportunity to achieve their career dreams in music, dance, spoken word, and art. Gabbii will be presented to the St. Louis music community on Friday, February 27 during a Listening Party at TBeats Studio, where she is recording her music and being mentored in the entertainment industry. Gabbii also will be featured at the upcoming Live Your Dream concert on March 14, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at the Maryville University Auditorium. Tickets are $15 and are available from TBeats Studio (314) 754-5618 or Kwame Foundation (314) 754-5619. “Thanks to the Kwame Foundation scholarship, Gabbii’s music dreams are now within her reach,” said Anthony (Tony) Thompson, founder of the Kwame Foundation and partner in TBeats Studio, where Gabbii has been signed to record her music. TBeats Studio at 1204 Washington Avenue is a quality recording facility where musicians can create, learn and progress in their careers. In addition to music production, TBeats provides artist support services, classes and summer camps in audio recording, engineering, recording software and equipment. “We’ll show Gabbii how to create a goal and aim for it,” said Thompson. “We will give her a platform for an artistic career so her talents and gifts can be developed and exhibited. Each year, one “Live Your Dream” scholarship recipient is selected through a competitive process. Last year’s “Live Your Dream” recipient Brianna Elise Brown received extended voice and acting coaching, and recorded and released her debut album “The Beginning.” Brianna also showcased her talent through numerous live performance opportunities. She was the opening act for national recording artist and Grammy Award winning Chrisette Michele at The Pageant and will sing with legendary jazz pianist Kenny Barron at Jazz at the Bistro on February 5. Brianna’s journey over the past year as the scholarship winner has been documented through the “Live Your Dream” documentary, performance videos and photography. Brianna also sang and performed in a thought-provoking music video called “The Beginning: Play It Safe.” ABOUT GABBII ABOUT TBEATS STUDIO ABOUT KWAME FOUNDATION # # #
