Crisis Nursery Celebrity Waitresses’ & Waiters’ Night, August 16
ST. LOUIS, MO — Have a light breakfast, opt-out of a pound-packing lunch, and join Saint Louis Crisis Nursery for a delightful dinner during the 22nd annual Celebrity Waitresses’ and Waiters’ Night on Thursday, August 16, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m at Plaza Frontenac.
The night’s specials include dinner at four Plaza Frontenac restaurants — Brio’s Tuscan Grille, Cardwell’s at the Plaza, Canyon Café and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. More than 100 national and local celebrities will engage supporters for tips to benefit Crisis Nursery’s child abuse prevention programs. The event also includes live entertainment, a Happy Hour and After Party, raffle items including a one-week stay in Cancun, Mexico and diamond earrings courtesy of Vincent Jewelers, an online silent auction and more.
Last year, diners contributed a record $90,000 in tips to celebrity waitresses and waiters to benefit the kids and families served by Crisis Nursery. According to Plaza Frontenac Marketing Manager Jean Ahsmuhs, the addition of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Brio’s Tuscan Grille is sure to make this year’s event another record-breaking year.
"Plaza Frontenac is once again proud to be part of the St. Louis Crisis Nursery Celebrity Waitresses’ and Waiters’ Night," said Ahsmuhs. "This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy a fantastic meal and donate to a great cause."
Since 1986, Crisis Nursery has provided 24/7 emergency intervention, respite care and support for families with children ages birth through 12 years. A community staple, Crisis Nursery is credited with preventing the abuse or neglect of 99 percent of children while their families are benefitting from the organization’s programs.
County Executive Charlie Dooley, the Celebrity Waitresses’ and Waiter’s Night honorary chair, said Crisis Nursery fills a critical community service role. All proceeds from the event help protect children served by Crisis Nursery.
"I encourage everyone to take part in Crisis Nursery’s Celebrity Waitresses’ and Waiter’s Night," said Dooley. "It means the world to the children and families who will benefit from intervention and support services we provide. I thank each and every person who works to make this event a huge success."
