ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Kwame Building Group, Inc. and the other members of the Tri-Gold joint venture of HDR, Jacobs and Kwame recently were honored by the ACEC/PA for their work on the Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) North Shore Connector light rail extension project. The team received a Diamond Honor Award for Engineering Excellence – Transportation and the Best Panel Award at the organization’s gala last month.
The North Shore Connector project included a first-of-a-kind tunnel bored under the Allegheny River, cutting-edge architectural designs at three new stations, innovative heavy civil construction, and achievements in art and archeology. Tri-Gold provided construction management of the 1.2-mile extension. The project was delivered safely, on time and on budget. The Diamond Awards for Engineering Excellence recognize and celebrate engineering achievements, skill and ingenuity among member firms. The Best Panel Award honors the firm that creates the most compelling graphical representation of their project while promoting the achievements of the engineering profession.
