You’ve heard us tell you, "The Loop is open," but that gets a whole new meaning Tuesday.
Crews have finished major track work and it’s just in time for the holiday shopping season. This morning, crews will remove the traffic barriers. The project manager says construction is on-schedule. This work started in March of last yea and officials say 50 percent of the track is already installed. Now there’s still more to be done. Contractors are installing light poles and working on the westbound station stops. But, they expect for all the major work in the business district to be completed on November 24th. Of course, the countdown to Thanksgiving is on which means people are starting to eyeball those Black Friday sales.
