Missouri casinos treat veterans and active military this Saturday for Veterans Day

Missouri casinos sent $11.8 million in tax revenue to the state’s Veterans Commission Trust Fund last year

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Veterans and active military will be treated to free meals, discounts and other giveaways at Missouri casinos this Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11. Casinos honoring their military guests in special ways this Veterans Day include Century Casino in Caruthersville, Century Casino in Cape Girardeau, Harrah’s North Kansas City, Hollywood Casino St. Louis, Isle of Capri Casino Hotel in Boonville, River City Casino & Hotel in Lemay, and Ameristar Casino in Kansas City. Check with each casino for details, restrictions and the process to obtain and redeem vouchers, discounts and giveaways. Guests will need to present a military ID or VA card. 

Veterans Day giveaways, donations and promotions are just one of the many ways that Missouri casinos honor and support veterans throughout the state. Last year, Missouri casinos sent $11.8 million in tax revenue to the state’s Veterans Commission Trust Fund, which funds healthcare at its seven veterans homes and assists veterans and their dependents through its programs. Missouri casinos have donated more than $372.1 million to the veterans fund since gaming began in Missouri. Missouri casinos also support veterans in their local communities by funding and volunteering at local organizations.

VETERANS DAY CASINO ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

Century Casino in Cape Girardeau
From 10 a.m. to midnight, Veterans that have or sign up for a Winners’ Zone card will receive $20 in Free Play and be included in the Veteran’s 20X multiplier. 

Hollywood Casino – St. Louis
The PENN Heroes rewards program gives active-duty military, veterans and first responders access to special discounts, promotions and events. PENN Heroes patrons are invited to a complimentary meal from a limited menu at 99 Hops House from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. when dining in the restaurant. Veterans can swipe their PENN Heroes card at the promotional kiosk to claim a ticket to receive the complimentary meal. They also are invited to pick up a free t-shirt and challenge coin from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the promotions center. 

Isle of Capri Casino Hotel in Boonville
Veterans and active military who present their military ID may redeem a $20 food credit valid at The Brew Brothers between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. 

River City Casino & Hotel in Lemay
PENN Heroes patrons are invited to enjoy a complimentary meal from a limited menu at Beerhouse from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m when dining in the restaurant. Veterans can swipe their PENN Heroes card at the promotional kiosk to claim a ticket to receive the complimentary meal. They also are invited to pick up a free t-shirt and challenge coin from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the promotions center.

Harrah’s North Kansas City
Harrah’s will offer a 25% discount for Veterans in Bite and Bean and Winning Streaks restaurants for dine-in only.

Century Casino in Caruthersville
From 10 a.m. to midnight, Veterans or active military who have or sign up for a Winners’ Zone card are invited to spin the Salute To Prizes wheel for a chance to win up to $100 in Free Play.

Ameristar Casino – Kansas City
Ameristar has partnered with Vet-Tix to donate to veterans 15 pairs of tickets for each of the shows in their Entertainment venue. 

In addition to supporting veterans, Missouri casinos employ more than 5,891 people and pay wages totaling more than $250.7 million. Last year, Missouri casinos generated $326 million for education and provided $69.75 million in taxes to their host communities. Casino tax revenue is one of Missouri’s top tax sources. Casinos also generate many millions more in annual corporate income, property and sales taxes. In 2022, Missouri casinos contributed $759,000 in cash and in-kind donations to charitable organizations, and casino employees volunteered thousands of hours to help community organizations.
