ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Gitana Productions’ “Black and Blue,” an original play by Lee Patton Chiles exploring the complex relationship between the African American community and the police, returns for its third season in May and July.
Performances will be May 20 at Harris-Stowe State University; May 22 at Webster Groves High School; and July 15 at Christ Cathedral Church. Tickets are free but advance reservations must be made at www.gitana-inc.org, or email Gitana at [email protected] or call 314-721-6556 (Donations accepted) “Black and Blue” is based on a compilation of interviews with police officers and members of the African American community about the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson and the events that followed. The cast includes professional actors, Ferguson protestors, community members and students from Gitana’s Global Education through the Arts program.
