SGCMH Surgery Expansion Project Comes In ‘Well Under Budget’

The surgery renovation and expansion at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) came in “well under budget,” CEO Tom Keim reported to the Board of Trustees during the January 25 meeting.

McGrath and Associates was general contractor on the project.

Keim told the board he anticipated having a recap of the project cost for the February board meeting, which took place on February 22.

“The new area has a clean and appealing look and we are very pleased,” Keim reported, according to the meeting minutes. “We will consider putting up doors instead of just curtains in the remaining one-day surgery outpatient rooms.”

He added that people are using alternate entrances now that the new surgery area is open and that SGCMH will display signage encouraging patients and visitors to stop by the gift shop near the main entrance.
