The largest shopping center to be built in St. Charles County since 2008 is entering its final stages of construction.

The exterior of the $54 million project, The Shoppes at Mid Rivers in St. Peters, is nearly complete and interior build-out is scheduled to begin in early June.

Knoebel Construction Inc. of Chesterfield is the general contractor on The Shoppes at Mid Rivers. Construction began in February, and despite the heavy rain of March and April the project is said to be on schedule. Interior construction will include the build-out of all tenant stores, including confirmed tenants Academy Sports + Outdoor, Burlington, Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Home Goods, Ulta Beauty, Five Below and Famous Footwear. Aspen Dental will be situated on one of four outparcels on the site.

The project employs an average of 75 construction workers a day at the St. Peters site and Knoebel Construction is tasked with completing the mall by this fall, in time for the holiday shopping season.
