Area College Students invited to climb in Upper Limits Bloomington Fall Bouldering Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, October 7

BLOOMINGTON, IL – Area college students are invited to climb in the Upper Limits Fall Bouldering Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, October 7 from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. The outdoor climbing competition will be at the Upper Limits Bloomington, 1304 W Washington Street. Students from Illinois State University, Bradley University, University of Illinois and Illinois Wesleyan University are invited to climb as individuals or bring club teams of at least five members to compete against their central Illinois college rivals.

The cost to enter is $30 per person if pre-registered or $40 if registering the day of the event. Upper Limits members receive a $5 discount. The competition will be “redpoint” format. Participants will have three hours to climb. The top five problems count towards each competitor’s score. The scores of the top 10 climbers on each team count towards the team score. Individual and team recognition will be given to competitors.

Upper Limits Bloomington is also inviting the public to compete in Ropeless Rodeo, a bouldering competition after the Fall Bouldering Collegiate Invitational on October 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  The event is open to amateur and experienced adult and child climbers.  For more information or to register, visit https://upperlimits.com/bloomington/events/ropelessrodeo.
