ST. LOUIS, MO — Broadway Restaurant Group, the St. Louis-based Burger King franchisee selected for the successful national test market of the meatless Impossible WHOPPER®, is adding seven new locations over the next few months and will reopen the Jefferson City Burger King on September 3. A tornado severely damaged that location on May 22. Each new restaurant creates 30 to 40 local jobs.

Broadway Restaurant Group’s new Burger King in St. Louis City at Chippewa and Gravois is slated to open later this month. Other new restaurants will be located in Bellefontaine, Hazelwood, St. Roberts, Hanley/Natural Bridge, Union and a second restaurant in Jefferson City. The franchisee also recently opened restaurants in Pontoon Beach, IL and Ellisville, MO.

Burger King has selected the franchisee’s upcoming, new location in Jefferson City as one of the first locations in the United States to test the brand’s latest store design and finishes. Located at West Dunklin Street and Missouri Boulevard, this is the second Jefferson City Burger King for Broadway Restaurant Group. Tornado damage to the existing Jefferson City Burger King on Christy Drive included flooding, roof damage, glass blown out of all west-facing windows and doors, ripped awnings, bent light poles in the parking lot, destroyed menu boards in the drive-through and the HVAC unit was picked up and thrown. Broadway Restaurant Group relocated all employees to nearby restaurants so that the team members could remain employed during reconstruction. The reconstructed location will open September 3 and the brand new location is scheduled to open in December.

“Burger King has significantly upped their game over the last couple of years to stand apart from what people typically expect from a fast-food restaurant. ’Wow, this is a Burger King?’ has been the common guest feedback at new and remodeled stores,” said Henry Delouvrier, co-founder and managing partner of Broadway Restaurant Group. “There have been upgrades to the guest experience across the board – from overhauling the look and feel of the restaurants, to launching new and innovative products like the Impossible WHOPPER®, to improving the quality of ingredients in core products.”

Broadway Restaurant Group’s locations are spread across St. Louis, Southern Illinois and Missouri. While many of the new openings have been in higher-growth areas like Wentzville and Ellisville, they also focus on improving and building restaurants in underserved areas of St. Louis City, often where there has been little other new development. Their new site at Chippewa and Gravois, for example, is slated to open later this month.

Broadway Restaurant Group is currently hiring employees for both new and existing Burger King locations. Interested applicants can apply at https://www.b-restaurants.com/careers or in-person at any Broadway Restaurant Group location.

“We strive to hire and promote right from the surrounding communities, giving residents a livelihood and path to career growth. In fact, ninety percent of Broadway Restaurant Group managers have been promoted from within,” said Michael Adams of Webster Groves, Broadway Restaurant Group’s Vice President of Operations. “Day-in and day-out, we take the approach that if we hire great people, give them the room to succeed and reward performance, they will take care of our customers. Sales and profits will follow. Our team truly is the driving force behind our exciting growth.”

Broadway Restaurant Group contributes to communities in which they operate through community service and a localized scholarship initiative. The company provides $50,000 in scholarships each year. Approximately 75% of these scholarships are awarded to employees and 25% to members of the community who are not employees.
