The intersection of DeBaliviere Avenue and Forest Park Parkway is set to close July 11 for three weeks as part of work on the Loop Trolley.

The closure is needed so workers can remove and rebuild the intersection and install one of the last segments of trolley track on DeBaliviere between the Missouri History Museum and Pershing Avenue, according to a news release.

No detour map was available Tuesday.

It’s the third intersection to be closed for an extended time as part of the work.

The intersection of Kingsland Avenue and Delmar Boulevard had been closed since June 13, but is now open. Its re-opening came a few days earlier than expected.

But work continues on the track switch just west of Kingsland, so there will be lane closures on a short section of Delmar. The switch installation should be be done by the end of next week and all lanes will then open, the news release said.

The intersection of Delmar and Skinker boulevards closed April 25 through May 5.

The most recent cost estimate available for the 2.2-mile trolley line under construction between University City and Forest Park is $51 million. Trolley organizers had said the trolley was set to open at the end of this year, but have since said that it’s now scheduled to begin operating in the spring.
