Emerson building fake grocery store

Emerson’s Climate Technologies unit has built a model grocery store complete with shelves, refrigerated cases and point-of-sale terminals to start testing retail technologies of its own.

The supermarket is part of a $30 million innovation center on University of Dayton’s campus in Dayton, Ohio. Fox Architects, one of the largest architecture firms in St. Louis, designed the facility, which is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
