Kingsland-Delmar intersection to close for Loop Trolley work

The intersection of Delmar Boulevard and Kingsland Avenue will close early next month for four weeks to accommodate construction on the Loop Trolley project.

The intersection will be shut down starting June 6 to allow workers to install the trolley’s west end terminus and track switch. The intersection is expected to reopen by the Fourth of July weekend, officials said.

The detour for westbound Delmar traffic:

Leland north
Loop N west
Kingsland north
Vernon west
Midland south
The detour for eastbound Delmar traffic:

Trinity south
Washington east
Kingsland north
Loop S east
Leland or Melville north
Separately, beginning May 31, Missouri American Water will install new water valves at the Kingsland-Delmar intersection. Parking lanes on both sides of Delmar west of Kingsland will be used for west and eastbound traffic, and the center lanes (normal driving lanes) will be closed. Work is expected to be complete in one week, officials said.
