St. Louis Post-Dispatch: $81 million plan to revitalize 10-block area of O’Fallon Park announced

An $81 million project to revitalize 10 blocks in the O’Fallon Park neighborhood in north St. Louis will include new construction of retail, homes and community greenspace.

The City District is a partnership of AMJ Investment Group, Kwame Building Group and the city of St. Louis. Kwame is serving as the construction manager and program manager. The architect is Jackson Design Group.

The project is a series of new construction and redevelopment initiatives that will reimagine 610,000 square feet across 128 parcels. Demolition for the 66 parcels in the first phase, half of which are vacant properties, is set to begin in March.

Phase one includes the construction of City Plaza, which will feature retail and office space, including a grocery store and bowling alley.

Phase two will include rehabilitating 26 existing homes. Large single-family homes will be converted into multiuse rental properties while retaining their architectural history. A $24 million project will construct new single and multifamily homes.
