2017 revenue: $67.9 million
+64.8%
General contractor Knoebel Construction grew revenue in 2017 through the addition of national and local projects, according to owner and President Matthew Mabie.
Specifically, Knoebel’s focus on specialty markets, including grocery and retail with the 28-acre retail development, The Shoppes at Mid Rivers, contributed to the increase.
“We choose retailers that we think provide an experience that customers will want to continue to come back to,” Mabie said. “That selective process works well for us to make sure that when our clients are booming, so are we.”
In 2017, Jessica Carroll was promoted to CFO.
Last year was a planned “leap” year. Knoebel Construction plans for heavy growth every other year. As 2018 is a readjusting year, Knoebel projects modest growth of about 5 percent, predicting $75 million in revenue. Upcoming projects include nationwide redevelopment of existing shopping centers, grocery-anchored developments and expanded retail, multi-use and restaurant construction.
