Vintage cars shipped in from Seattle for Loop Trolley

Two green vintage trolleys from Seattle were shipped into St. Louis this week for the upcoming Loop Trolley.

Three more trolleys will also be shipped in from Seattle and Portland.

The vintage Seattle trolleys, which include wood-panel interiors and brass hardware, used to run on the George Benson Waterfront Streetcar Line in Seattle. Together the three Seattle trolleys cost about $200,000 total, officials said.

The 2.2-mile, $52 million Delmar Loop Trolley is set to open next spring. The intersection of Kingsland Avenue and Delmar Boulevard will close on Monday for three weeks for construction.
